Want some Savvy spending money?

If you do, just head on over to the forum and join in our Christmas Cybercrop! Challenge deadline isn't until midnight Thursday 2 December, so still plenty of time to play along. All challenge winners are chosen randomly, so EVERYONE has a chance at winning some spending money in the Savvy store. We even have blind scrapping happening in the forum at 8pm tonight, we'd love to have you join in!

Last night I went along to the Scraploot Xmas Party Crop and omg did we have a blast! For anyone that is my facebook friend, head on over and have a look at all my pic...there are some howlers of San & Nat...two crazy funny girls I am so happy to call my friends! Thanks Sue for having us, can't wait for the next time.

Amongst all the Loot madness, I actually managed to scrap FOUR layouts for the Cybercrop - all three challenges up in the forum plus my example for the blind scrap tonight. Here's the ones I can share so far...

Sara's Challenge - Create a layout using a Christmas photo using non-Christmas products. I whipped this up using an old She's Savvy Kit which was spot on for xmas colours but totally not xmas ranges.

Kerryn's Challenge - Create a Christmas themed page using a Christmas song or the lyrics as your title. Once you have your title sorted, please include some stars, circles and of course glitter on your page. I had fun scrapping this gorgeous photo of my niece Chloe from 2008, and I've used a title from the song 'Santa Baby'.

Anthea's Challenge - Create a page using this image for a colour challenge.

These colours are just perfect for two Christmas ranges in store now - Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas and Collage Press Joyride. Here's mine using Joyride and photos of Georgie at our Playgroup Xmas Party last year.

What better time to scrap Christmas photos than right now, when the silly season is in full swing and we're not 'over it all' yet! Would love to see you getting through some, before you have a ton more in only a few weeks time!

This morning we headed off for Georgie's Dress Rehearsal before her big concert with NRG Studios next weekend, she looked amazing and totally enjoyed herself, she is going to rock that stage next Sunday night! So proud of her. xx

Hope you've had a great weekend, I'm trying to ignore the fact that its Monday again tomorrow and am enjoying a lazy Sunday arvo with my little family. Till next time. xx

Tell the truth...have you scrapped ALL your christmas photos from last year?! I bet you haven't.

So this month at Scrapbook Savvy we are cybercropping CHRISTMAS with the aim to have those Xmas 2009 photos scrapped and in albums before Xmas 2010 rolls around in four weeks time.

We'll be playing from Friday 26 November with nearly a week till deadline at midnight Thursday 2 December.

Remember them...

The church bells rang 29 times so we knew it was final & the end of the line. Now 29 miners are at heaven's gate with coal silt dirty faces asking "Is it to late?" When God replies with a grin "No my children come on in!" They place their mining lights gently on heaven's floor then God said "Job well done. leave your boots at the door" R.I.P GUYS. xx

Today the world lost 29 men. Men that were at work, doing their job, doing what they needed to do to support their families. These families stood on the surface of Pike River Mine as the second explosion went off, and from there it was nothing but devastation as realisation came about that their men would not be coming home.

This is something I try not to think about. Something I try to ignore. This can't happen in todays world, with all the precautions and legislation and everything else that goes into the running of a coal mine.

Unfortunately it CAN happen, and has happened. And we'll probably never know why.

As I kissed my husband goodbye tonight as he went off for night shift (in a coalmine), I shuddered. I cannot imagine losing him. I cannot imagine how the families in NZ are coping right now. This is horrific and something I have ignored and not thought about as I waved my husband off each day of our nearly ten years together. Its kind of hard to ignore on days like today when its all over the television, radio, internet, everywhere.

Please hug your husbands tonight, regardless of their job, they work hard in industries that can be dangerous and they do it for us. Kiss your children as these men won't get to do that again. Cherish eachother and your families, life is too short for all the bullshit and craziness we let overtake our lives. Realise just how lucky you are, we are.

Remember the men of Pike River Mine. I will never forget them, and the look on my husband's face today makes me realise that neither will he. xx

Friendship...

'Friendship must never be buried under the weight of misunderstanding.' - Sri Chinmoy

I've had a rough couple of days. Not something I can (or want to) go into here, but something that I hope will be resolved as quickly as it came about. Friends, please remember, email and internet are not the way to go about communicating serious matters and problems. Words get mistaken, tones not known, and everything can be taken totally out of hand. Don't make the mistake of not picking up the phone and resolving things, before you know it - its too late.

I will try to cheer up this miserable post with some scrapping...

Here's one I did with the crop girls today using the BRAND NEW Sketches 2 Scrapbook iphone application, if you own an iphone you should seriously check it out, its UNREAL! This is Sketch #2. No photos on this one as you can see, but instead I've used one of the sweet little love notes Cooper brings home from school regularly from his little friend Charlotte.

And this one just because, of me at my sister's 40th birthday which was an art theme. I went as Andy Warhol's pop art version of Marilyn. Maybe not such a good look in hindsight, lol!

Till next time, be safe. :)

OMGoodness....

I've done 377 layouts this year, what the?! That is a LOT of scrapbooking and I have well and truly outdone my total from last year. My friend Sandra would say 'its quality not quantity' but I'm happy that these photos are scrapped and their stories written down....and she's just jealous anyways!! ;P

While I was sorting my photos and folders of layouts, I realised that there are still a lot I haven't shown off. So here's a couple, just because.

Hi-Ho...my Bronte girl on the day she refused to take her Snow White outfit off before going to daycare! I think this one started from a blind scrap over at SFS, but I kind of went off on a tangent.

G & O - a just because layout using the leftovers from Lisa's Class at the Savvy Delights Retreat this year.

Speaking of retreat, are you thinking about coming along next year? There is more info over in the forum and deposits are being taken to secure your spot.

See you soon!

A Scrappy Day & A Xmas Present for YOU!

My scrappy day started when I opened the new Creating Keepsakes magazine which was in my letterbox to find this...

A FULL PAGE in the Aussie Reader Gallery!

And then this, on the next page!

Very exciting, I have never had a full page before! :D

So that got me excited about my scrappy world, so I ventured into the scrap room around lunchtime where I was joined by my new friend Nat for the afternoon.

Later this arvo my buddy San joined us, and she's still here, currently working with me on a very exciting layout & technique class for Savvy's next crop night being held on Friday 3rd December...less than two weeks away! Be sure to book in quick, as this is a XMAS BONUS CLASS for only the cost of our crop! You will learn numerous techniques and be GIVEN your class kit as a christmas present from us. The only thing you'll need is white alpha & adhesives (which I'm sure you'll have with you in your stash anyway). First ten booked in only, so don't miss out! More info & sneak peeks coming really soon, so keep your eye out!!

Apart from that, I have had a super successful day layout wise, with five layouts finished so far...

She Knits - about how my mum knits for all the babies in our family, and just loves seeing them wearing her handmade garments.

Year of '10 - Dan, Cooper & I at midnight last new years eve, our boy not being able to take his eyes off the fireworks on the tv for even one second for a photo!

@ The Footy - one of the oldest photos I had left of Cooper to scrap, his very first Dragons game with his Daddy. Love this photo to bits.

Another layout from a couple of years ago, I'm really trying to get the kids' older album fully finished and upstairs. Love looking back at their old albums. :)

And another of my little 6x12 holiday layouts, I love pulling these out when I'm right at the end of a kit and using whats left.

So there you go, a bit of a catch up from little ol' me and some exciting things coming with Savvy & Delights working together! Its all good!

Yep thats right, all kits are now 10% off - even the few current ones that are still in store!

Head over and grab a bargain!

Finishes midnight Monday 22 November 2010.

Classes @ Peta's

So I still have a ton of layouts to share with you, and with all this busy-ness in my world I haven't been sharing as often as normal! Here are a few classes that we did at Peta's retreats - I love them all!

These ones using the BG Pyrus range, which you can find here at SFS or in the latest We're Savvy Kit.

And these using the Bella Blvd Sunny Happy Skies range - only a little of which is left over at Scrapbook Savvy. I had a look over at SFS but I couldn't find it there...maybe it will be up soon as I know Peta has been updating the store following the retreats.

And this one which was a little bit different, using a WRMK sleeve and doing seperate little pages. I LOVED the end result and would definitely recommend this for those events where there are lots of things to celebrate.

I have had a really good day of cleaning up the online side of the Savvy store after my recent store upgrade by Gabbie at Dotcom Design, she has once again helped me so much and solved lots of problems for me. Thanks Gab! :)

Thanks for visiting & see you soon!

The new me!

The new WORKING me! I trained on Tuesday with a gorgeous girl called Carley (who just happens to be a member of the Savvy forum already and we have lots of common friends, which had us blowing out all day!) and officially started my job today. I have to say, it feels great! As much as I'm missing being at home with my babies....its actually nice to miss them and rush home to them in the afternoons, instead of wanting to run away by 5pm. Getting dressed nicely, putting on heels, doing my hair and putting on some makeup is SO damn nice. And the lunchbreak...omg, I had forgotten how nice it is to have an actual lunchbreak! I have to say I think I've been very lucky to have this job come my way and I sincerely have to thank my wonderful friends for referring me. Love it when things turn out great like this...just karma's way of showing me I'm making the right decisions in my life and am reaping the benefits for it. :)

Speaking of which, I must take a photo tomorrow of me all ready for work for my 52 week album. Remind me, will you! ;)

Ok...some scrapping...what haven't I shown you yet? Let me look...

Ooooh, the November He's Savvy Kit! It once again sold out on the first day, but for all those out there who want some inspiration (yes Kell, I'm talking to you!) then here they are!

This one was the Retreat Sketch at SFS.

Some phone photos of Dan's of a shopping trip with the kids, and the inevitable visit to the playcentre at Westfield.

I adore these photos and have been hanging onto this mower from Memory Maze for ages just waiting to scrap these!

A just because of Dan & Coop kicking the footy.

And Cooper's first indoor soccer match, mixed the kit up with some stickers I found at Scraploot.

Not much actual scrapping here with my busy week, but hopefully I'll get into some on the weekend. Hope you're all having a fab week and thanks for visiting!

Oh What A Night!

I cannot describe how awesome my birthday has been! I've had so much fun, so many messages, emails and birthday wishes. Thank you so much to everyone that has helped me to celebrate (and to those that wish they could've). Here's just a few pics from my night...

Me & my man Dan! Check out the tiara my friend Ezz gave me...and the beautiful pink Swarovski pendant from some of my friends. Thanks girls!

The beautiful cake made by my beautiful friend Deslie, thanks babe. xoxo

Moi!

Cake time...

And this one pretty sums up what an awesome night I had!

If you're my friend on facebook you can check out the rest of the pics here.

And just cause I have so much scrapping that I haven't shared yet, here are my latest 52 weeks layouts that I got totally caught up with at Peta's retreat last weekend.

Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you again soon. xoxo

1 more sleep till the big 3-0!!!

So much going on! And its all good... :D

We are up to Day 9 of Donna's visit and it is absolutely flying. We've been to Peta's retreat and spent a weekend with an awesome bunch of girls, laughed for four days non friggin stop!

Thank you Peta for another awesome weekend, and for all your hard work! Can't wait for the next one. xoxo

We rushed home on Sunday afternoon to go to San's Halloween party, and let me tell you it was worth the drive! San would have to be the best party hostess EVER with so much organised for the kids, I know mine had an absolute ball and didn't want the party to end!

Cooper in his knight outfit, helmet and shield HANDMADE by Dan...awesome job eh?!

Georgie 'posing' once again in her fairy outfit and halloween headband

Bronte putting our pumpkin in the garden :)

And my three babies, grafitti-ing San's fence :)

Tuesday was Melbourne Cup Day and Donna, Leesh, Linda & I celebrated in style with a few different venues including Kembla Grange racecourse, which was a whole heap of fun and laughs.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours at my new job in Wollongong, where I'll be starting next week! A new chapter for me which will involve just a little more juggling but it will be wonderful to be back in the 'real world' and actually physically going to work a few days per week. I will miss my babies but it will do them good as well, I'm sure. :)

And today we are cropping at the very last Thursday Crop at Savvy - as of Tuesday 16th November we will just be cropping on a Tuesday and every second Friday night. I was greeted with this beautiful bunch of flowers from my friend Marijana this morning, I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends in my life. Thanks babe. xoxo

And tomorrow....eeeeek, I'm gonna be 30!!! With a birthday crop night and then a big ol' b'day bash on Saturday night!! Yep, my world is just kinda spinning right now...slow down, will ya, world! ;)

Oh, I nearly forgot this is a scrappy kinda blog, better show you something that involves paper & glue... ;)

Here's a couple I whipped up from the new We're Savvy Kit on the weekend, still some available in the store for the bargain price of $25 if you need one. ;)

A Family - photo taken by my beautiful friend Lauren from Red Door Photography

Fujiyama - a night out with the kindy mums & teachers with an awesome tepanyaki dinner and a few drinks.

Thats it for now, be back soon with some awesome inspiration from Stuck for November!
