April Week 1 @ Let's Get Sketchy

Not sure how I stumbled across this challenge page called Let's Get Sketchy, but they have a sketch released each week which is just perfect for me at the moment while really in the zone and wanting to scrap as much as possible!

The April Week 1 sketch looked like this...

Snuggle - a photo of my snuggly girl Georgia and I on the lounge, she is always the first one of my kids to want a cuddle.

I have used the Crate Craft Market Paper range that I was lucky enough to get from Anna's Craft Cupboard with my recent voucher win.  I have used the Hardcover paper for my background and added the circle in the sketch plus other background touches with StazOn inks in three different colours and two different TCW templates

(Crate Craft Market Wood Veneer Shapes, Crate Craft Market paper, Prima flower, Rainbow Splendour  hairpin,  WOW wood veneer, fabric flair)

Hope you've got a scrappy kind of weekend coming up, I'm hoping to get a little bit done!

April 1st Stuck?! Sketch

One more layout created from the January TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Cleo...that makes seven!  When you take into account the cost of the kit plus postage, that works out approximately $5.70 per page so far...and I still have plenty of bits & pieces left in this kit.  I'm going to have to keep going with it and see just how many layouts I can create from one kit...that sounds like a challenge!

This layout was based on the first sketch released over at Stuck Sketches for April, which looks like this...

I had a portrait orientation photo so I have turned the sketch to suit.

Party Craft - a photo of Georgia at her friend Mason's birthday party last year, enjoying the craft on offer.

This is the first time I have used this TCW template with the houses on it, have always loved it but had yet to work out a way to incorporate it into a layout.

Don't forget that the deadline for uploading your layouts over at Stuck is the 29th of the month, I got caught out last month as I thought it was the end of the month!  I've made sure I've got them done in plenty of time this month though.

Thanks for dropping by!

April 15th Stuck?! Sketch

The second sketch this month over at Stuck?! was just perfect for these photos of Bronte when she was only tiny, in the pool with Emma and having an absolute ball.  I have such great memories of our weekends spent with Emma and I miss spending time with her now that she is all grown up!

The sketch looks like this...

Splash! - I have created this page using the gorgeous Bo Bunny Sweet Life papers that I bought with my voucher prize from Anna's Craft Cupboard.  This range was so easy to work with, its just too pretty.

I've used the Sweet Life paper on the background and have just added some texture paste through the new script TCW template.  For the first time in forever I have also stitched on my page using the sewing machine, around the outside edges and also on the strips of paper.

Thinking of all my Hunter Valley friends and praying they are getting some relief from the storms, its looking pretty awful here in the Illawarra is the perfect day to sit & scrap but unfortunately I'm off to work instead.  Booooo!

Happy Scrapping!

WOW Triple Treat Challenge

This month Words or Whatever had a great challenge on all social media websites that looked like this...

I was excited to receive a gorgeous 'family' set of chipboard in the post which included a Family title, a journal spot with a frame, two love hearts and a hashtag symbol.  With these I have created a layout of my past Design Team at Savvy...these gorgeous girls were so great to work with and I definitely classed them as my scrapbooking family at the time.  Of course, we have all moved on in different directions...some still scrapping and some not...but I will always call these girls my friends!

I started this layout on Saturday night when I was really just not feeling I just started to play and make a mess.  I started with a piece of Bazzill cardstock which already had some gelatos effect on the background, I then added some mist over a mask...I wasn't happy with it so added some ink over the new script TCW template...still not happy so I added some blue paint....actually quite a lot of blue paint but a lot of it is now covered by my photo.  Lastly I added some texture paste with a credit card, swiping it back and forth, and then finally pressing onto it with a piece of plastic gauze.

I have used papers from a gorgeous new paper kit I bought from SFS called Simple Stories Sn@p Life Documented.  I have fussy cut the arrows on my layout from one of the papers, then simply folded them up a little and glued them down.  I love this effect and will definitely be using this particular paper again in the exact same way.

With these few pieces of the WOW chip, I have left the centre of the journal block raw but on the heart and border I simply painted some red mist onto the chipboard with a paintbrush.  With the hashtag symbol I coloured it in with a black sharpie and then covered with Stickles.

Again with this larger WOW heart I have pained with red mist.  With the WOW 'family' title I coloured onto my chipboard with some gelatos and then rubbed with a baby wipe until the chipboard was fully covered. I then used Stickles over the top and allowed it to dry overnight.

Here is a closeup of my background texture and paint work, along with a gorgeous piece of chip from the Sn@p Life Document Chipboard Stickers.

Thanks Suzanne & team for a great challenge, I really had fun with this and it has inspired me to pull out my big box of random chipboard and start playing with it!

D-Lish Scrap April Inspiration Challenge

Playing along again this month with the girls at D-Lish Scraps.  Their current mood board is just gorgeous, and I even purchased the April Just Add Paper Kit which is called Aztec Dreams.  It went perfectly with the Basic Grey Aurora kit that I bought recently from SFS.

Here's the inspiration board...

And my take...

Friends For Life - a photo of me and my two besties Linda & Leesh. taken by TMK Photography.

I have stayed absolutely true to the sketch...I have to admit that I usually like to add or change bits & pieces in the sketch a little to become my own, but with this one I just had no ambition or creative just finished it off as best I could adhering to the sketch.  I've used pretty much the exact embellishments as shown on the sketch from the D'Lish Kit including the heart, feathers and flowers.  It is what it is...not my most creative effort by far but its another layout completed and in my album!

Thanks for dropping by and visiting my blog today!

Smarty Pants

This is my last layout from my SFS scrappy visit...its taken me a week to blog them all and I haven't scrapped once since then...this must mean its time to get back into it!  I have felt like scrapping all afternoon, but am yet to start and am in procrastination land.  Hubby broke his arm this week skateboarding, and between that and other things its been one crazy week.  When I finish this blog post I am definitely going to sit and scrap....oh ok, maybe I'll cook dinner first....but I WILL scrap tonight!  Lots of challenges to do and only 12 days left this month, come on mojo, come and get me!!

Anyways, here it is....

Smarty Pants - a photo of Bronte on the day she started school, we took her for morning tea at Country Grocer as she had a late morning start.  It seems so long ago but really it isn't, she is in Year 1 now but just seems so much more grown up than she was here.

This is my sixth layout using January TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Cleo.

(Bazzill Eggshell cardstock, American Crafts papers, alpha & ephemera, Studio Calio alpha,  TCW template)

(flair, handmade flower by Grandma Joan, WOW wood veneer)

I loved this kit so much that I have actually signed up for a six month subscription from The Scrappery, and I really look forward to receiving the next one!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you get some time to scrap this weekend too!

My Favorite Girls...

Yeh yeh, I know favorite is spelt wrong...but when Heidi Swapp realises title stickers that look THIS good you just have to use them...even if they are American spelling!

Another background created with gelatos by Bronte, how awesome did this one turn out!

I have used the  January TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Cleo once again for this one, this is the fifth layout so far from this kit so it has definitely been good value!

The circle was done using StazOn ink through one of the new TCW templates.

My Favorite Girls - a beautiful photo of my niece Emma with my girls a few years ago on her birthday.  She is much more grown up than this now at 19 years old...but she will always be one of my favourite girls.

(American Crafts ephemera, handmade tag by The Scrappery)

Only one more layout left to share from my SFS scrappy visit and I'll be back with that soon!
