My Creative Sketches June

Another post, another sketch!  This time a really cool one over at My Creative Sketches, I love the options in this, you could use one photo, three photos...whatever!  The sketch looks like this...

My take, a photo of my friend Nic & I out for dinner, just one of those selfies for Facebook, not a great shot and a bit blurry but still a memory!

Smile - Using the Basic Grey Aurora range plus some old chipboard & washi out of my stash, a flair button, Prima flower and the awesome new Prima Cling Stamp that I borrowed from Kel at retreat, its called Spills and I've just ordered my own from The Scrappery which should arrive soon, lucky I got in quick as they are now sold out on the site!

(Basic Grey Aurora papers and stickers, American Crafts embellishments, cabachon,
flair, washi tape, Prima stamp, StazOn ink, Prima flower)

A closeup of my cluster and journalling plus that gorgeous stamp...

(cabachon, flair, washi tape, Prima stamp, StazOn ink, Prima flower)

Some texture paste through a TCW template then stamped over the top...

There is still time to enter this challenge at My Creative Sketches which is due on the 14th July.

Let's Get Sketchy June Week 2

The second sketch released for June over at Let's Get Sketchy looked like this...

I See The Light - a couple of recent photos of Georgia in her modern costume, she has had this routine for over 12 months now but its only just seemed to click the last two times she has performed it, placing 2nd both times in super tough sections with lots of very talented Sydney kids. This is another layout created from the January TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Cleo, and another gelato background I prepared earlier.

(American Crafts papers, alpha & ephemera, Prima flowers, twine, washi, gelatos)

(American Craft ephemera, diecut tag, Studio Calico alpha, Prima flower, twine)

I'm pretty sure this cute little butterfly was a handmade one by my Mum :)

I am off work this week on holidays with the kids, running back and forth to the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre  for Wollongong Eisteddfod.  I have planned to get some scrapping done in between sessions but so far we are halfway through the week and I haven't even looked like pulling out my stuff!  Will try again tonight!

Sar

Scrap The Boys June Challenge

Another great sketch over at Scrap The Boys this month, this was the last layout I managed to get done at retreat as we were packing up on the Sunday afternoon...always so depressing packing up after a fantastic weekend with friends!  The sketch looks like this...

Toothless Terror - a funny photo of Cooper in his State of Origin jumper, the look on his face just cracks me up!  He is very obviously missing a big front tooth in this photo.

I have once again used various templates (both TCW and Kaiser) to create the background on this gorgeous October Afternoon paper, layering different colours of ink on top of eachother.  I have also used the gorgeous Prima splat stamp which I borrowed from Kellie ALL weekend, we were all in love with this stamp, I am definitely going to have to invest in one for myself.

(October Afternoon papers, Studio Calico alpha stickers,
StazOn inks, TCW template, Kaisercraft template)

A closeup of my background work...

Thanks for popping past my little blog today!

Anna's June Sketch

I loved the sketch over at Anna's Craft Cupboard this month and had no trouble scrapping it!

June Sketch

It helped that I had such a gorgeous photo to scrap along with a gorgeous range that I purchased from Anna's with my last sketch win over there - Bo Bunny Sweet Life.

Moral Support - a super cute photo of little Bronte with her arm around her big brother Cooper while he is playing a video game.  I love her little red shoes and her wings - so adorable!

American Crafts Thickers, American Crafts date stamp, Prima splat stamp, twine, TCW template)

A touch of journalling...

We had a discussion at retreat about mismatched lettering and how it usually looks terrible, but American Crafts have managed to create a mismatched alpha that actually looks fantastic!  Love this alpha, could use it again and again given the right colour palette on my layout.

Thanks for dropping by!

15th June Stuck Sketch

Another sketch layout, this time the 15th June Stuck Sketch which looked like this...

And my take -  Balloon Fun featuring both my girls when they were much smaller!  This layout was created using the April TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Alice.

( TCW templatePebbles Jen Hadfield Papers, Jen Hadfield Cottage Living Paper Flower,
twine, shipping tag, Gold Glitter Die Cut Shapes, Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine Black Foam Words, liquid pearls)

1st June Stuck Sketch

Last weekend I went away to a scrap retreat with a few of my girlfriends, just a low key budget retreat and we had the BEST time! It was lovely to just get away and do our own thing for a couple of days, no kids, no commitments....way too much eating & drinking, but thats the way it goes!

I ended up with 12 layouts in total, most of them challenge layouts for June, I will blog one at a time but there will be a blog overload for the next day or so to make sure they are up in time for challenge deadlines.

Getting in just in the nick of time before the cutoff for this challenge!  The Stuck Sketches challenge site has a slightly earlier deadline of midnight 29th June.  This layout was created using the 1st June sketch which looks like this:

Charlee is 7 - Georgia celebrating with her friend Charlee on her 7th birthday, a party at the studio, the kids had such a great time.  Its so lovely to see the girls at the studio growing up together!

This layout was created using the April TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Alice.

( TCW templatePebbles Jen Hadfield Papers, Jen Hadfield Cottage Living Paper Flower,
twine, shipping tag, Gold Glitter Die Cut Shapes, liquid pearls)

A closeup of my journalling...

Closeup of my background which was done using liquid pearls through a TCW template along with the super cute gold diecut heart and shipping tag with twine threaded through.

Thanks for much for dropping by and stay tuned for lots more posts to come!

April Challenge @ Scrapbooking Top 50

This month's challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 was super easy, the only criteria was that we had to use the word HAPPY somewhere on our layout.  Super easy for me, soooo many photos to choose from, but this one of my baby girl and her 4u jazz troupe after they'd performed it for the first time.  Seems so long ago with some of these girls including Bronte now in 8u.  They've been friends for years now, how lovely for them to have such special friendships from such a young age.

Happy Babies - This is my fourth layout using the new TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Indi, and the BPK Aria Kit.  I've used another one of my backgrounds created with gelatos from my SFS scrappy visit.

(Crate Paper paper, Crate Paper Ephemera, Maggie Holmes puffy stickers, American Crafts Thickers, Rainbow Splendour  bow,  TCW templates)

(Crate Paper Ephemera, American Crafts Thickers)

(Rainbow Splendour  bow, metal embellishment)

(Crate Paper Ephemera, Crate Paper word stickers)

I love this kit so much and can't wait to play some more...this weekend is not looking good though with a massive troupe day Saturday and a solo eisteddfod all day Sunday.  Hopefully I can pull my scrapping out again soon.

Cheers,
Sar

April Challenge @ Kraft+

This month's challenge at Kraft Plus was a Retro Recipe that looked like this...

And my take -  She Came! featuring my Georgia girl showing me the money that the tooth fairy left her.  This is my third layout using the new TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Indi, and the BPK Aria Kit.

I have used all the ingredients required as listed:-

- Washi tape on the strips behind the photo
- Polka dots on my background, on the washi and on one of the papers
- Cotton in all of my tags
- 3 tags all from the kits I was using
- A sprinkling of silver in the paint added to the background
- Stamping which is on the background, this stamp was in the BPK Aria Kit this month

I'm sure these kits were made for this challenge, they had everything I needed except the washi which I digged out of my stash.

(Crate Paper paper, Crate Paper Standouts, American Crafts stamp, handmade flower by Grandma Joan, Crate Paper Ephemera, Maggie Holmes puffy stickers,  TCW templates)

April Week 2 @ Let's Get Sketchy

Another great sketch at Let's Get Sketchy, I'm just loving having a new sketch to do each week! Something new for me as most of the Aussie challenge sites are monthly.  Monthly is great but weekly....woah!  That is a lot of work for the LGS team, well done!

This is the April Week 2 sketch looks like this...

And my take - Mojo Moments - another layout using the new TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Indi, and the BPK Aria Kit.  These photos were taken at the Camp Mojo retreat back in 2011 and include lots of selfies with my scrappy friends including AM, Lis, Wendy, Ali, Witchy, Susan & Peta.

April Week 3 @ Let's Get Sketchy

Last week in the mail came the very lovely new TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Indi, and I was a bit naughty this month and also added the BPK Aria Kit to my order.  So far I have completed four pages with these gorgeous kits and here is the first one I will share with you.

This is the Week 3 sketch at Let's Get Sketchy, I have completed Week 2 as well but will share that next as I can't find the photo of it right now.

Foot Undies - something that anyone that isn't a 'Dance Mum' would probably not understand!  These cute little things provide comfort and support for the girls when they are doing a dance that doesn't require shoes, like a modern or contemporary.  These were Bronte's first pair at only 4 years old and she wore them for her modern solo.

April Week 1 @ Let's Get Sketchy

Not sure how I stumbled across this challenge page called Let's Get Sketchy, but they have a sketch released each week which is just perfect for me at the moment while really in the zone and wanting to scrap as much as possible!

The April Week 1 sketch looked like this...

Snuggle - a photo of my snuggly girl Georgia and I on the lounge, she is always the first one of my kids to want a cuddle.

I have used the Crate Craft Market Paper range that I was lucky enough to get from Anna's Craft Cupboard with my recent voucher win.  I have used the Hardcover paper for my background and added the circle in the sketch plus other background touches with StazOn inks in three different colours and two different TCW templates

(Crate Craft Market Wood Veneer Shapes, Crate Craft Market paper, Prima flower, Rainbow Splendour  hairpin,  WOW wood veneer, fabric flair)

(Crate Craft Market paperWOW wood veneer)

Hope you've got a scrappy kind of weekend coming up, I'm hoping to get a little bit done!

Sar

April 1st Stuck?! Sketch

One more layout created from the January TSK Kit from The Scrappery called Cleo...that makes seven!  When you take into account the cost of the kit plus postage, that works out approximately $5.70 per page so far...and I still have plenty of bits & pieces left in this kit.  I'm going to have to keep going with it and see just how many layouts I can create from one kit...that sounds like a challenge!

This layout was based on the first sketch released over at Stuck Sketches for April, which looks like this...

I had a portrait orientation photo so I have turned the sketch to suit.

Party Craft - a photo of Georgia at her friend Mason's birthday party last year, enjoying the craft on offer.

This is the first time I have used this TCW template with the houses on it, have always loved it but had yet to work out a way to incorporate it into a layout.

(American Crafts papers, alpha & ephemera, Basic Grey alpha stickers, TCW template)

(American Crafts papers, alpha & ephemera, Basic Grey alpha stickers)

Don't forget that the deadline for uploading your layouts over at Stuck is the 29th of the month, I got caught out last month as I thought it was the end of the month!  I've made sure I've got them done in plenty of time this month though.

Thanks for dropping by!
